Marian Central Catholic High School has been an important part of our lives for decades. My wife and most of her family graduated from MC. Our own 3 children are MC graduates and, like their mother, attended MC with siblings, cousins and extended family. They all experienced a similar family atmosphere and community. It has been a very special place to attend high school. While I did not attend MC, I understood the unique value of a MC education.
My husband, Dr. Tom Salvi, and I have lived in Crystal Lake for the past twenty-five years. We have sent our seven children to both St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic School and Marian Central Catholic High School for the past nineteen consecutive years. (more…)
I have been blessed over the years to have been a part of the Marian history. I am the grandson of one of the founders, a 1969 graduate, a father of five Marian graduates, have served on the Council of Administration, and through chairing two capital campaigns was known as “Mr. Marian.” Marian did a great job preparing me for college and dental school, affording me the professional skills to establish a successful dental practice. Today the Church is facing a crisis of historic magnitude. It seems each day we learn about another case of sinful acts perpetuated by members of the clergy, with the greater sin being the cover up.
